In its most positive meaning, coexist is simply a call to get along with one another. In a world plagued by deep divisions, violence, and animosity, their is a yearning, a deep desire to just get along and live a peace with one another. The problem is how do we do it? Join us this Sunday as Pastor Bruce continues his series, "What's the Difference Between Religions," with the question of how can we peaceably coexist.

What is really the difference between all the religions? Does it really matter which one you believe? Who is to judge? How do we coexist if we disagree? Join us as Pastor Bruce explores these questions in his series, “What’s the Difference,” beginning Sunday June 9 at our 10 am worship service. Come for coffee starting at 9:30 a.m. Personal prayer time in the sanctuary at 9:55 a.m. and our weekly worship service at 10:00 a.m. followed by Life Groups for adults and Bible study and activities for students and children at 11:15 a.m.

Gateway Family and Friends,

Thank you to everyone who has reached out to volunteer at Killarney Elementary School this year! You have truly made a difference through your service. Killarney has made great strides over the past year in developing a healthy school culture that facilitates unity and helps the children to learn and to grow and develop in a safe and encouraging environment. The school had a volunteer recognition event on Wednesday and shared the following information for the 2018-2019 school year.

10,413 hours volunteered this year, as compared to 3,281 in 2017-2018! ● 305 Active Volunteers ● 28 Active Partners in Education

Gateway Church volunteers have mentored students, assisted teachers in the classroom, volunteered in the school food pantry, prepared snacks for faculty meetings, and conducted an after school program. I personally each lunch with two children each week, participated in “Teach-In,” sharing about my job as a pastor, and I served as a judge for the Math Bee and Oration Contest. Here are additional areas in which other churches and community volunteers are helping:

● Read2Succeed ● Big Brothers and Big Sisters ● Sewing Club ● Board Game Club ● STEM Club ● Field Trips ● Food and Backpack Donations ● Teach In ● Campus Beautification ● Mentoring ● Tutoring

As followers of Christ we are called to Reach, Love, and Unite. Ask God how he wants you, your family, Life Group, or ministry group to reach out and share his love this summer and next year. There are many opportunities and events at Killarney Elementary where you can help out during the weekdays or evenings. You can also help homeless families through Family Promise. Family Promise may be the easiest and most impactful way that you and your group can personally change a family’s life.

Thank you for your service and God bless you all.

In Christ,
Pastor Bruce
